Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, EGYPTAIR

Mr Sherif Fathi was appointed Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding Company on August 27th 2015. He has over 29 years of experience in the aviation and tourism industries. He joined the commercial division of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in 1986 and moved to EGYPTAIR in 1988.

Throughout his career, Mr. Fathi held several executive and consulting positions in and outside EGYPTAIR; He was the regional manager for KLM and Northwest Airlines in several countries in Europe and the Middle East from 1992 until 2003. Thereafter, he rejoined EGYPTAIR as an advisor to the Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding Co, where he established the pricing and revenue management department and managed the international organizations department.

In 2004, Mr. Fathi made another move to the International Air Transport Association - IATA as the regional director for the Middle East and North Africa responsible for IATA distribution and financial services division.

In late 2008, he pursued his career again in Egypt as the Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR sister company Air Cairo, thereafter moved to the UAE to join Air Arabia as the Chief Operating officer and managing director of the Sharjah-based Airline.

In 2011, Mr. Fathi established Travelbook SARL in Lebanon and provided consulting services to several companies in region.

Mr. Fathi holds a B.A in Social Sciences and has completed many studies and training programs in leadership, change management, marketing, finance, negotiations, risk management, TQM and others in Canada, USA, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Mr. Fathi, born in 1963 in Cairo, is married with four children. He speaks Arabic and English. He likes handball, music and reading.
