Terminal 2 is the new home for 23 Star Alliance member airlines, which will work together under one roof, enabling you to make your connections more conveniently. From the moment you arrive, you'll find that your journey from entrance to departure lounge has been designed to be as quick and easy as possible.
Star Alliance member airlines are grouped in zones, so it's easier to find the check-in desk for your airline. Check-in at Terminal 2 includes a high level of self-service, to speed up the process and put passengers in control of their own journey. If you are taking hand luggage only, you will be able to check in online or via mobile and proceed straight to security. Alternatively, you can use one of our 81 self-service kiosks to print your boarding pass and bag tag (if you have hold luggage) and then proceed to the bag drop zone. Full service counters are on hand if you have any needs that go beyond the basic check-in process.

Self-service check-in
Terminal 2 at London Heathrow offers self-service check-in that allows Star Alliance passengers to take full control of their journey from the outset. Learn all about this, before you get to the airport, in this short video.
Terminal 2 offers traditional full service check-in for passengers travelling in First Class or Business Class and for those customers with Star Alliance Gold Status. Each airline's premium check-in desks are clearly marked and most can be found on the back wall of the open-plan check-in hall. First Class and Business Class passengers can also enjoy even more of the airport by taking advantage of a dedicated Fast Track security lane.

Departure journey
You'll never have to travel far between flights at T2, with a standard minimum connection time of 60 minutes once all member airlines have moved in by the end of November 2014. Transfers between flights should be seamless at T2 with all connections made within a single terminal. After your inbound flight arrives, you'll pass through a separate channel from arrival gate to security and use a dedicated area for ticket presentation, giving you quick access into the departure or airline lounge.
